Jason is a leading expert on marrying software product management to agile development approaches, and a frequent speaker on Agile product management.

Since 2001, Jason has consulted to, trained, coached and mentored managers of software-based products and services of numerous companies—from those in the software business itself to banks and telecommunications firms. He has deep experience in product roadmapping, marketing, management of business partners, project management, and team leadership.

Prior to joining Applied Frameworks, Jason was general manager of NetQoS’s Allocate software product, a tool for tracking and managing network usage in companies. For the Austin, Texas, network performance software and services company, he managed the product, built the marketing function, helped business development, trained customers and employees, and consulted to customers on product configuration and reporting. (Reaching $55 million in revenue by 2009, NetQoS was purchased by CA Technologies for $200 million.)

From 2001 to 2006, he was a product, marketing and project manager at Evident Software, a New Jersey-based firm that provided real-time performance monitoring and other tools. He helped Evident move from the traditional “waterfall” approach to software development to agile methods.

Jason gained his first team leadership skills as a Marine officer from 1990 to 1999, where he rose from rifle platoon commander to a company commander to an assistant operations offer.

Living in Cary, N.C., he is an active member of the Triangle Product Management Association, AgileRTP, the Agile Leadership Network - RTP, and the state’s Council for Entrepreneurial Development.

Jason has a B.S. degree from Cornell University in aeronautical engineering, and an MBA from Duke University with a concentration in entrepreneurship. He is a Certified Scrum Professional and a SAFe Program Consultant.
