Kim Poremski

Kim Poremski has a passion for coaching, mentoring, training, and transforming product and software professionals and their respective organizations who are in various stages of Agile adoption.

Kim’s career in IT began at the age of 10 when she took her first computer programming class.  During her college years she worked as a Helpdesk Technician for a large bank. After devoting 16 years working as a Business Systems Analyst for companies in the insurance, investments, and banking sectors including USF&G, T. Rowe Price, and ING DIRECT/Capital One, Kim was introduced to Agile in 2008 and has been an advocate ever since. As an Agile practitioner she has served in Product Owner and Scrum Master roles, as an Engineering manager/servant leader to onshore and offshore Scrum teams and as a Product Owner practice leader.

Prior to joining Applied Frameworks, Kim worked for Benefitfocus, a leading provider of cloud-based benefits management software.  During her tenure she was selected to help guide the company’s Agile transformation serving as a coach and trainer. She then joined the Product Management team where she led the company's Product Owner practice.

Kim received an undergraduate degree in Business Information Systems and a Master’s degree in Advanced Information Technology from Stevenson University.  She holds the Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), and SAFe Program Consultant (SPC4) certifications.  In her free time she enjoys visits to the local beach, freelance writing, baking, and being a spectator/cheerleader at her two daughters’ many soccer games and marching band performances.
